Nikki appears to be seriously falling for Richie on The Bachelor, but could a long running curse ruin her chance of finding love?

If you’ll recall, Nikki was chosen for the very first single date at the beginning of this season. She’s built a strong connection with Richie, and plenty of people are speculating that she’ll be Richie’s final girl.

But despite the connection the two have shared, there’s a problem. The Bachelor first date curse. Let’s take a trip down memory lane, shall we?

Season one: Tim Robards took Sarah on his first date, but ditched her during episode nine.

Season two: Jessica scored the very first date, but was eliminated at the final four.

Season three: Sam Wood invited early frontrunner Sarah Mackay to join him on the first date, but said goodbye to her at the final three.

So will the first date curse strike and ruin everything? Our mate Osher Gunsberg says all of that is nonsense.

"Nikki shouldn't worry [about the curse] at all," he told The Daily Telegraph. "She and Richie got off to a cracking start, and she’s becoming more emotionally invested every day. I’m not taking notes as to when people say they’re in love, but I am very happy for her regardless. It’s a wonderful feeling when I feel it, and I’m happy to see someone so lovely experience those emotions."

The Bachelor airs Wednesday and Thursday at 7.30pm on Ten.
