Sex & The City has got to be the classic go-to girls flick for every occasion. It’s funny, witty, sexy and has style to-die-for!

But Sarah Jessica-Parker (aka Carrie Bradshaw) has just revealed a theory that has basically blown the whole show to smithereens.

In a new interview with Nerdist, Sarah boggled everyone’s minds when she thrust this theory on to the table:

That Carrie’s gal pals Miranda, Charlotte and Samantha are all figments of her freakin’ imagination.

We’re sorry, Sarah, WHAT?!

Let it not be true!

Sarah revealed, "I used to wonder if Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda were real. We don't know if any of that stuff that happened is real ... What we are seeing isn't necessarily what happened in New York."

The theory goes that each of the women symbolise stereotypes of single women and that Carrie made them all up.

This theory has its for’s and against’s, but one clear thing which might trump it is that all the characters interact with different characters… so unless Carrie’s imagination is so huge that she has made every single character up and is sitting in a room all by her lonesome… well, it just doesn’t seem too feasible.

We don’t think we could handle this theory being true. Could YOU?!
