We’re only days away from the premiere of The Bachelorette, starring Georgia Love – a former Win News presenter in Hobart.

She’s quirky, fun and down-to-earth – however she’s already receiving hate from the journalism industry over the fact she quit her job to find love on national television.

The 27-year-old was slammed by people in her industry for chasing ‘celebrity status’ – one columnist said, “Here’s hoping Love makes better choices romantically… than she has made thus far with her career.”

Georgia has spoken out about the claims, telling The Daily Telegraph she found them ‘very hurtful.’

“I’ve taken a massive risk. To suggest I’m putting myself in this vulnerable position for short-term fame is quite offensive. Yes, it’s a public forum, but I’m doing this for personal reasons.”

Georgia never thought about the show until Channel Ten approached her with the opportunity. It was a tough decision as it would ultimately make or break her career.

Since our new Bachelorette has been working towards her dream job since she was 15, these accusations are pretty awful. However, it sounds like Georgia is confident enough to not dwell on the negativity. We can’t wait to watch her journey towards love this season!
