NZ is so close to our east coast that you can easily pop over for a weekend – maybe a long weekend. Here’s one way to see and do everything you need to in Auckland.
Land, check into your hotel and hit a bar. Don’t even shower. Ok, maybe shower.
Everybody’s is a bar/restaurant where you can share food with a travel buddy and kick off your weekend with a beverage.
Depending where you’re staying – or how many you had at Everybody’s the night before - brunch at Toru could be a great start.
If you’re a late riser, head straight to one of the bustling markets. The Parnell Farmers’ Market is in the Jubilee Building car park.
You can’t travel to New Zealand and not bungee. Thankfully, you don’t have to go far jump from the highest building in the country – Sky Tower. If bungee jumping 192m isn’t your thing, the observation deck is open to see Auckland in a more relaxing way.
The Auckland Museum is also a must (and a great way to wind down after bungee jumping) for learning about the country’s history, culture and more.
Start at Britomart. You’ll be able to find a nice place for dinner and it’s easy to find a nice bar from there. Otherwise, Ponsonby is known for its nights out – just stick to a drink or two to avoid missing a whole day to a hangover.
Get up early and head only 30 minutes north to the Waitakere Ranges National Park.
You could literally spend a whole day there, so take your time soaking up the fresh air and scenery.
Book the last flight out and fly home after an early dinner.
Now you have everything to see Auckland in a weekend.
Soon you could be seeing more of the World with Holden; see your Holden Dealer now and you could see the world later.
