Has 2016 been one of those years where you look back and go, “what the f#$% was I thinking…?”
You probably have also noticed many of us spend our days with our heads glued to our phone screens… needless to say, some of our regrets are because of things we have done on those phones.
The Internet we scroll so seamlessly through appears to be a paradise, but it can be a living hell sometimes… identity theft, drunken uploads, user history, you name it.
Despite how much we love the ‘net, we think this holiday season calls for us going off the grid for a while… but it’s a little hard to do when our whole lives are documented in cyber space. It’s not like you can just delete yourself from cyber history…
Well, there’s a website that exists that will literally erase a whole lot of your existence from the Internet in a simple click.
Deseat.me is a site developed by Swedish developers and all you have to do to say sayonara to your online regrets is log in with your Google account and a whole list of accounts connected to your email will pop up, allowing you to delete them individually.
This is terrific news just in time for the New Year, but sadly it only works for Google accounts.
Sorry Yahoo and Hotmail users… you have to live with your mistakes…
There’s always the option of throwing all your devices in the bath tub and pretending the Internet doesn’t exist.
Not that that’s ever going to happen.
