Today is World Emoji Day - and to celebrate, Twitter have released some stats about the most used Emojis in Australia and around the world!

Both in Australia and globally, the top emoji is the 'Face With Tears of Joy' Emoji. Who'd have known!

The runner-up was the same for both too - the "Smiling Face With Heart-Shaped Eyes' Emoji.

Third place down under was the love heart, while internationally the 'Loudly Crying Face' Emoji claimed the bronze.

The major difference between the the local and global top tens? Aside from a few minor position changes, Aussies seem to love the ol' thumbs up Emoji.
