It's the end of an era... Well, officially.
BlackBerry has just announced that after a long near 15 years in the industry, they will be discontinuing to manufacture smartphones.
Fair enough, we don't think anyone has owned a BlackBerry since 2009 but it still feels like we're about to lose something so dear to our hearts. We must remember that there was a time when you were a nobody without a QWERTY keyboard phone.
However, since the rise of iPhones and Samsung smartphones, BlackBerries simply haven't been able to keep up.
"The company plans to end all internal hardware development and will outsource that function to our partners," the chief executive of BlackBerry said.
The company recorded a loss of $AUD425m last quarter.
We guess Kim Kardashian hoarding BlackBerries she bought from eBay just wasn't enough.
