Yahoo is set to confirm that a whopping 500 million accounts have been hacked.

In 2012 near 500 million personal Yahoo accounts were hacked due to a data breach to Recode, stealing personal data kept within.

Just last month, a hacker who went by the name of Peace was found selling hundreds of millions Yahoo users' credentials for $1,800.

Yahoo has since been investigating the incident of this security breach. A source close to the case confirmed that they, unfortunately, came to the conclusion that 500 million of their accounts from 2012 were indeed hacked.

The source hasn't revealed too much of the incident, however, has said that legal action and Government investigation will likely follow.

The hack, if confirmed, is said to be the worst security breach over the past few years.

If you have a current Yahoo account it is imperative that you change your password - if you also use that same password for other logins, we suggest you change that too!
