A lot of us can't get through the morning without a good cup of coffee... but we never thought we'd see a day where coffee was used for something other than waking us up.
But that day has come, because people are using coffee to dye their hair and it's not as crazy as it sounds!
It turns out that using coffee as a hair dye is a much healthier alternative to the chemical dyes and there are a few benefits to using this it!
1. Coffee will make your hair healthy and shiny!
2. Coffee is used to stimulate hair growth.
3. It will make your hair darker!
Thanks to some folks over at Spoon U we now know how to execute the whole 'using coffee as a hair dye' routine perfectly!
If you want to try this out, you'll need:
- Ground coffee.
- Shampoo & conditioner.
- A dark towel.
- A shower cap.
Now for the down low of what to do!
First, you'll want to make 2 cups of ground coffee. The darker the grind the better the dye job! Be sure to let the coffee COOL completely before using it.
Next, mix 2 cups of conditioner with 2 tablespoons of ground coffee (not the mixture you've just made!). Mix away 'til the granules are gone and it all looks smooth.
If you've got thicker hair, make sure you double the ingredients in case you find yourself needing extra!
Once that's done, wash your hair with normal shampoo, then squeeze out the excess water from your hair.
Put a towel around your shoulders and use the 2 cups of coffee mixture to soak your hair, by simply pouring it over to get your hair very wet. Use your fingers to massage in the coffee conditioner mixture to your entire hair. You can then use the shower cap to keep your hair up as the process begins.
Keep the mixture in for an hour, then rinse your hair until it's all out. Wash your hair again to ensure there's no coffee left in you lush strands and voila!
You'll now have some sexy locks with a gorgeous, chocolate tone!
Of course, if you want to dye your hair blonde... well, the coffee option isn't for you.
At least you'll still get your coffee fix each morning!
