Brunettes Beware: You're Washing Your Hair TOO Much

We're right into the swing of summer and loving it; we get to live it up on the beach, wear our favourite dresses and get our tan on (tan not sunburn...). 

But we have to admit that summer thus far has been a scorcher and we've been left in a pool of sweat on numerous occasions, which means to keep cool and looing fresh, we're upping our cleansing routine and washing our hair and bodies a lot more. 

Especially when our hair is sticky with salt from the beach.

But if you're a brunette (by choice, not by nature) and have been upping the hair-washing routine, then there's something you need to know:

Step away from the shampoo and conditioner, you shouldn't be washing your hair more than twice a week!

Celebrity hair colourist Shah Karegar, spoke to Popsugar UK and revealed that if you dye your hair brown then you need to decrease the number of times you wash your hair a week, because you're ruining the colour. 

"The reason why a lot of brunettes get mousy (coloured hair) is because their hair is dehydrated, whether it's from the sun or being shampooed quite often."

Shah has coloured the hair of some stunning Victoria's Secret Angels, so we better follow her advice if you want your locks in tip top shape!

It's hot enough already, so don't go dehydrating your hair even more.
