Everyone crushed over Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart's romance and we just found out the real reason for their break up... brb crying...
We all went through our Twilight stage where we were obsessed with everything to do with the franchise, and of course with the Hollywood It-Couple of the time Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson.
Needless to say, our couple crushing habit left us absolutely crushed when the duo called it quits in 2013 amidst Kristen's cheating scandal in 2012. Fans were devastated and shocked in every shape, way and form possible.
However, in a recent interview with The New York Times Style Magazine Kristen opened up on her relationship with R-Patz in a way she never has before.
We all thought the split was due to the scandal, but Kristen divulged that it was actually the public's obsession with their relationship that started the break.
"People wanted me and Rob to be together so badly that our relationship was made into a product... It wasn't real life anymore. And that was gross to me."
Twihards will know the extents they'd go to in order to support their relationship, but perhaps too many expectations were thrust upon the couple from the millions of bombarding fans who constantly mistook their character's romance for real life.
Sorry, but Bella and Edward aren't real folks, and relationships don't exactly work that way.
You can imagine the strain that puts on a couple, how it governs all of their public actions, and in turn, how they act behind closed doors.
Come to think of it, we all kind of feel a little bad for the expectations we put on them both...
Kristen has never been one to talk about her relationships, but her current partnership with girlfriend Alicia Cargile has been the first she's been comfortable to open up about.
"I would never talk about any of my relationships before," but once she started dating Alicia," it seemed like there was an opportunity to represent something really positive... I still want to protect my personal life, but I don't want to seem like I'm protecting the idea."
We'll still always ship Rob & Kristen forever, but we're glad she's found true happiness in a relationship with someone where it's all completely real.
