Australian Rugby League legend Andrew Johns has had his fair share of huge hits during his career, but his latest accident left him in a state of pain that was so severe he thought he was having a heart attack.

The 42-year-old sportsman was surfing at Lennox Head in NSW this Thursday when he took a huge fall and, after having driven over eight hours back to his Sydney home, he awoke in the early morning hours in severe pain.

Andrew was rushed to Prince of Wales Hospital and after a series of X-Rays it was discovered his accident had resulted in a severely broken sternum.

He is expected to be released from hopsital by Monday and doctors have ordered him to steer clear of surfing and other related activties for a couple of months.

We're glad he's okay and that this didn't result in anything more serious.

Rest up, Andrew!
