aylor Swift might be suing Kim Kardashian & Kanye West after yesterday’s events… but if they are they proven guilty they could face a lot of time behind bars.
After the drama of yesterday, it doesn’t come to any surprise that Taylor Swift could be planning legal action against Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, after leaked their private phone conversation with Taylor.
If you missed everything that happened you can catch up with everything here.
Months ago, when Taylor learned that Kanye West had secretly recorded their phone call she threatened him with criminal prosecution…
According to TMZ, Taylor’s lawyer made it very clear that being under a California law, “anyone who secretly records a telephone conversation with someone in the state commits a criminal offense and it's a felony.”
The letter that Taylor's lawyer sent to Kanye's attorney back in February reads, "Demand is hereby made that you immediately destroy all such recordings, provide us of assurance that this has been done, and also assurance that these recordings have not been previously disseminated."
It is believed that that Kanye recorded the phone call in a L.A studio. This means that Taylor has the right to file a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian and Kanye for violating the law as she had no idea she was being recorded.
Today, The Sun has now reported that Taylor and her team are pretty seriously considering a dramatic legal bid that if the couple are proven guilty and charged, Kanye, 39, and his wife Kim, 35 could go to jail for three years.
Taylor’s legal team believe that Kanye and Kim have violated more than one law and it’s only a matter of time before things come even more unravelled.
Not only did Kim and Kanye break code 632 whoch states it's illegal to record calls without permission from both sides they also did not get consent from Taylor to record the call… and they never got Taylor’s written and full permission of the finished song.
A source revealed: “Taylor’s team believe that Kanye and Kim have quite clearly broken the law. They are on a mission to destroy Taylor but there could be serious consequences because they made the phone call from California where it is illegal to tape calls without permission.”
