Kasey Chambers has opened up about her past struggle with her health in a brave new interview.
The singer broke the news on Mia Freedman's No Filter podcast revealing that when she was 30-years-old she struggled with anorexia and bulimia between the years 2006-2007.
Kasey told Mia, "I just didn’t feel myself and I knew that something wasn’t right."
She continued, "I wouldn’t look in the mirror and see someone really fat… It wasn’t an image thing for me... It was more about the control thing."
Kasey’s career really took off a couple of years before and she admitted her lowest weight was 44 kilos.
Looking back at her journey, Kasey also stated, "I think a lot of that actually was me not allowing myself to kind of break down every now and then.'"
10-years on and Kasey now has gotten professional help for her eating disorder and she knows now that it was first triggered by not acknowledging the stress and the negativity in her life around that time.
We are so glad she got the help she deserves and got things back on track…
She is so brave for sharing her story.
