On Monday, film legend Meryl Streep received the Cecil B. DeMille Award for her incredible work.

Each film the actress had been in featured in a montage and Viola Davis delivered a heartfelt speech about how she had impacted her on a professional and personal level.

In her acceptance speech, Meryl mentioned how Donald Trump imitated a disabled person on his campaign trail.

"When the powerful use their position to bully others, we all lose."

Everyone in the audience praised her for it, however, the President-elect was not too happy.

He tweeted that Meryl was an "overrated" actress and now George Clooney has put in his two cents, biting back at Donald.

Whilst being interviewed by The Guardian, George said that the president-elect should focus on his job instead of tweeting hurtful comments.

"Aren't you supposed to be running the country?

"I didn't vote for him, I don't support him, I don't think he's the right choice.

"At this moment in our lives we have to hope that he doesn't destroy everything."

Other celebrities have taken to social media in support of Meryl and her words, showing that most of them feel the same way about Donald's actions.

Looks like Hollywood is standing with Meryl!
