Fifth Harmony band member Lauren Jauregui has addressed her sexuality, as well as her ethnicity, in an intense open letter to Donald Trump supporters.
Over the weekend, photos of Lauren were leaked online of her kissing another girl... tbh we have no idea what the big deal was. But a lot of people had something to say.
Poor Lauren was forced to address the situation and she did it with so much class.
In an open letter, which was published on Billboard, Lauren identifies herself as a proud "bisexual Cuban-American woman."
The emotional letter touches on the bravery of immigrants like her parents and grandparents and she strongly calls out Donald Trump supporters.
Saying, "every single Trump supporter trying to say that voting for Trump does not mean that you are racist, homophobic, sexist, xenophobic, a**holes…. Your words are worthless, because your actions have led to the single-handed destruction of all the progress we've made socially as a nation. You have, with your pure ignorance and refusal to understand the way the government and the world works, allowed a power-hungry business tycoon to take over the United States of America. … You are HYPOCRITES."
Lauren also took the opportunity to come out as bisexual and we couldn’t be more proud, "I am a bisexual Cuban-American woman and I am so proud of it. I am proud to be part of a community that only projects love and education and the support of one another."
Lauren’s letter has created a lot of attention, thankfully has spread the right message. You can read the full letter here.
We hope that people listen and continue to love each other.
We are so proud of you, Lauren.
