Admit it, most of us are guilty for having a good old jam out session to The Spice Girls… but do we really know what we are singing about? Apparently not.
Apparently a guy that worked closely on the song 'Wannabe' with The Spice Girls has come forward and revealed to The Daily Star what the song is really about… and it’s actually kind of disturbing.
While we don’t have confirmation from any of the girls or their managers, the insider claims that the part of the song when Mel B goes through all the girls one by one, is actually her explaining what each of the girls like in the bedroom.
“So here’s a story from A to Z, you wanna get with me you gotta listen carefully, We got Em in the place who likes it in your face, we got G like MC who likes it on an… Easy V doesn’t come for free, she’s a real lady, and as for me, ha you’ll see”
Goodbye childhood as we know it.
The insider also believes that the fourth line is actually talking about doing it while under the influence.
“We got G (Geri) like MC (Mel C) who likes it on an…”
Now this brings us to the "Zig-a-zig-ah" line… Did we ever really know what it meant?
Did we sing it proudly?
Well, apparently this is the girls throwing major shade at someone they shared their studio space with...
The same insider revealed; "Most of our studio neighbours were way cooler than us, we had Orbital and Chemical Brothers next door. But there was this one 80s pop dude who hated us for encroaching what he considered 'his turf' which was boy bands and girl bands. This guy had this nasty habit of taking a dump in the shared khazi while smoking a cigar, so we took to referring to him as 'S**t and Cigars'. During the recording this phrase was thrown around a lot and must have worked its way into Mel B's subconscious who pretty much wrote all the lyrics. She may have considered 'S*** and Cigar' for a minute – but eventually settled on 'Zig-a-zig-ah' instead."
Once again, this hasn’t been confirmed.
