Boys and girls alike grew up playing with Barbie dolls, creating all sorts of crazy make-believe scenarios that we look back on with serious confusion and fondness.
So long as we didn't treat them like Sid treated his toys in Toy Story... then we think you should have a good look in the mirror.
But as the casting news for the new live-action Barbie film has spread across the world, it seems like a lot of people are more like Sid than we could have ever imagined.
According to Deadline, our beloved Amy Schumer is set to play Barbie in the upcoming film, "who lives in Barbieland, among all of the various Barbie characters beloved by collectors, who gets kicked out, basically because she's not perfect enough and is a bit eccentric.
"She then goes on an adventure in the real world and by the time she returns to Barbieland to save it, she has gained the realization that perfection comes on the inside, not the outside, and that the key to happiness is belief in one self, free of trying to adhere to some unattainable standard of perfection."
This is obviously the take on Barbie that our generation needs, but of course many are focusing on the wrong things, trolling Amy online to spread cruel comments at her casting... and true fans won't have any of it, taking to Twitter to defend Amy.
Many are labeling the casting choice as a refreshing and game-changing decision for young girls everywhere, pushing the focus on appearance to more important inner traits.
As to be expected, numerous expletives have been thrown at haters for their cruel and sexist comments.
If you ask us, we can't wait to see Amy bring this character to life and we know she will do us all proud!
She is the Barbie this world needs.
