When they said ‘the circle of life’ we didn’t know it was gonna be so soon.
This morning it has been announced that Disney’s classic ‘The Lion King’ will be getting remade into a live-action/CG project.
We all fell in love with ‘The Lion King’ over 22 years ago, but it still plays a massive role in our lives.
The movie is set in in the African Savanna and told the beautiful story of a young lion cub named Simba who loses his father Mufasa thanks to his evil uncle Scar…
He then goes into the jungle alone and meets his best friends, he later returns to his home to reclaim his throne.
Disney has managed to get Jon Favreau on board, who is the same filmmaker who brought to life 'The Jungle Book.'
He took to Twitter this morning to hint at the project before the announcement was released.
Disney said in a statement, “The Lion King builds on Disney’s success of reimagining its classics for a contemporary audience with films like Maleficent, Cinderella and The Jungle Book... The upcoming Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson as Belle, is already one of the most anticipated movies of 2017. Like Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King will include songs from the animated film.”
The new take will be as close to the original as possible and won't exactly be live-action. They are working on using a child actor and bringing to life the jungle while using the latest technology and a green-screen set in a Los Angeles studio.
WE CAN'T WAIT!
