Australia has just come out of a winter that obvs was trying to freeze everyone's nips off, so we're pretty in tune with our feelings towards the cold... fyi they are not very positive feelings.
So, thanks to our cold snap at our winter that was, the latest breaking news to come from the French Alps has us cringing.
More than 30 tourists who traveled to the French Alps for some fun on the slopes have spent a terrifyingly dtramatic night trapped in the cable cars which were meant to carry them to the top of the mountain to have the time of their lives.
The tourists were stranded above the glaciers of Mont Blanc, when their cable car's wires became tangled in high winds.
The cable cars were running from Aiguille du Midi in France, and Pointe Helbronner, which lays on the border of Italy. The cable cars wire stretches across 5km.
Initially 110 people were trapped, but some were able to be lifted from the cars via helicopter and those closer to the ground climbed down with the assistance of ropes.
30 were unable to be rescued before nightfall and had to spend a long and freezing night suspended at an altitude of nearly 4000m in the air.
Thankfully, rescue teams were able to restart the cable cars by relaxing the tangled wire's tension, and the passengers have all bee freed.
We bet they're going to think twice before they plan their next trip to the snow...
