We've been told that love is a battlefield, but the truth is that dating is the real battlefield.

You all know how tricky it is to maneuver through the motions of a first date... things never seem to go to plan. Either you're way too worried about how you're coming across or your date just isn't what you thought they would be.

It can turn out like an episode of First Dates IRL.

We don't want that to happen.

So, for all the single ladies and men out there, how are we supposed to enter into the dating war zone with some kind of idea?

Well, this bit of info might help you discover the secret to dating.

EliteSingles conducted a study of 400,000 singles to find what the most important trait is that attracts someone to you when on a date and searching for a partner.

And No, it's NOT looks.

It's the trait of kindness which will have Mr. or Mrs. Right heading straight in your direction for the long run.

82% of women and 70% of men who participated in the study named kindness as the most important trait. It beat out others like sexual attraction, emotional connection and moral values (not that they aren't important, also!).

Psychologist Salama Marine has said that, "It's scientifically proven that kindness and generosity are the two most important elements to a lasting relationship.

"Kindness is not about pretending to be happy all the time but rather about being considerate towards your partner. It's the act of carefully expressing your feelings to them - both good and bad."

Nobody likes a jerk or biatch, so just be your kind, loving self and it will get you where you want to go.

Nice guys and girls DON'T finish last. The world always needs more kindness.

Especially right now.
