Sometimes you just want exercise to be FUN and let’s face it, running ain’t all it’s cracked up to be.

So when we’ve been told time and time again that getting it on in the bedroom will burn as many calories as a thirty-minute jog, well what do you think we’re going to opt for?

Despite everything we were told, it turns out that all that sexy time really might not be burning the calories we think…

New information surfaced in a recent study about obesity, in the New England Journal of Medicine, stating that the average man in his early-to-mid 30s who engages in the average six-minute length of sexual activity, will burn 21 calories.

Firstly, Hold up! Six minutes?!

They obviously haven’t’ heard of foreplay… and you can’t not have that!

Secondly – only 21 calories?! Our life has been a lie…

Of course, the stats would change slightly depending on age and gender.

There are other factors that can reportedly boost the calories burned up to 100, like your partner taking you to the clouds above (aka that amazing unexplainable feeling known as an orgasm).

There are a variety of claims as to how many calories you’ll actually burn, and calculators even exist to help you out, but considering it’s not like burning calories is the real reason we all get our sexy on… we’re not going to freak out.
