We all remember the iconic Qantas commercial back in 1999 that gave us all feels… well, who knew that it was literally a love story in the making? NOT US!

Meet Elysia Simons and Paul Van Der Toorren, they met when they were just nine years old in the Qantas choir, singing I Still Call Australia Home in front of Ayers Rock!

Now, 18 years later, the Melbourne couple have literally just tied the knot in a romantic ceremony.

Elysia, who is now a wedding photographer told FEMAIL that her and Paul’s love story began after instantly getting along after they were next to each other for the last scene of the commercial.

“During takes we would have to wait a while so would muck around together… I remember him looking over at me with this shy smile on his face. He was pretty quiet, but very cute and, like now, was just listening the whole time.”

Unfortunately, as they grew older and went into high school they drifted apart… but thankfully as the years past a mutual friend of theirs somehow got them back together again... ON MYSPACE?

They started dating and their love grew stronger... THEN in May 2016 the couple returned to where they met… yup, Uluru… and Paul being the super romantic that he is, he organised the whole trip and surprised Elysia by popping the big question!

The couple then got married just eight months later on the 14th of January at The Riverstone Estate winery in the Yarra Valley.

The wedding had a very outdoors and earthy feel and the whole setting just matched the couple perfectly… from dancing under the stars, to their love of the outdoors, everything was covered!

What a perfect love story.
