Australia’s getting an exhibition dedicated to mysterious street artist Banksy just in time for summer!
Melbourne has been blessed with several pieces of Banksy graffiti over the years, although many of them have been destroyed by council workers or vandals. But now a specially curated Banksy exhibition will be appearing in the Melbourne CBD in October.
The Art of Banksy exhibition is inspired by the streets of London and will take visitors on an artistic adventure through the mind of Banksy and his satirical street art. It will feature over 80 of his off-street masterpieces including ‘Girl with Balloon’, ‘Flag Wall’ and ‘Laugh Now’.
The exhibition will be located in the “dodgy carpark” behind Federation Square’s “good carpark”.
Because this is happening in Melbourne, the outside area will also house a rotation of food trucks, while beers and cocktails will be served at the Circle Bar. Plus there will be DJs playing on selected Friday nights and during Saturday sessions. Basically, this is the place to be when the weather heats up.
The Art Of Banksy opens on October 7. Get tickets and all the details here.
