Tragedy has sadly struck the heart of an Australian family this week, with Queensland husband Matthew Hall passing in a severe case of heatstroke.
The sudden death comes only weeks before Matthew and his wife Emily are expected to welcome their child into the world, and a GoFundMe page has since been established to help the family.
With the goal first being to raise $5000, over $50,000 has already been raised.
Matthew was on a quad-biking trip in the Beerburrum State Forest, on the Sunshine Coast, when he tragically collapsed of heastroke.
When paramedics arrived at the site, Matthew's temperature was at 42 degrees, and his organs sadly started to shut down as the rescue helicopter landed.
Emily Hall took to social media to share her love for her late husband, and that he will live on through their baby boy.
“He was my best friend and my soul mate,” the 30-year-old said.
“I can’t fathom life without him but my strength is knowing he will live through his son.
“I will love him enough for the two of us and I will make sure I do Matt proud and be the best mum to him.”
Their son is expected to arrive in three weeks and we send our love out to Emily and the entire family through this devastating time.
To lend the family a helping hand, please donate to their GoFundMe page.
