At some point in our life, many of us have suffered from those pesky cold sores that like to pop up every now and then… usually when we have a big event to go to or a much-awaited date.
Unfortunately, as they’re caused by the herpes virus, cold sores stick with us forever, but only flare up occasionally.
Many of us shrug them off. They come and go, so we should just get used to them, right?
Not so right… because those cold sores can have devastating effects if they spread to the youngin’s you spend your time around.
Amy Stinton, a mother from Portsmouth, took to Facebook to share a photo of her son Oliver, who had contracted the herpes virus after being kissed by someone with a cold sore.
Oliver, if his parents had not sought medical advice when they did, would have ended up in intensive care. He now has the herpes virus for life.
Furthermore… the virus can be fatal for babies and young children.
Yes, babies are so cute that you always want to shower them with little kisses when you see one.
But you need to think twice about the affects a ‘simple cold sore’ is actually going to have on a child, if you haven’t thought of them already.
