But when it comes to the planning and packing, things are not always fun.
Let's face it, some of us do not know what the word lightly means in packing lightly. We end up packing everything we could need but probably never will.
So what the hell do we do when we are about to go on a short trip away for the holidays (because our boss really isn't going to give us the five year holiday we want...) and we can't help but shove everything into our suitcase?
Well, these simple tips will help teach you how to NOT pack everything but the kitchen sink before you embark on your next adventure.
Scarves Are Your Friends
You might think that scarves are only for winter, but they aren't.
We know you all can't decide which jacket to take on vacation, especially when you don't know when a cold chill might surprise you in summer.
A simple scarf will do just the trick, though, and there are a tonne of elegant designs that you can wear as a shawl, use as a bag, or to make into a headband!
Mini Is In-ni
Yes, a terrible pun, but mini is in and you need to take note.
You don't need to pack a full size shampoo or moisturiser, or the huge eye shadow palette you will get for Christmas.
Play swapsies and opt for mini sizes. They fit in your handbag and won't take up the majority of your luggage.
It's What's Inside That Counts
Again, don't think you need to bring every cute blazer or jacket you have.
It's not necessary and if you only bring hose items then you'll basically be naked underneath... and there are certain limitations to 'freeing the nipple' in public.
Pack some cute singlets and breezy shirts that are easy to wash and quick to dry, so you can wear them again and again!
For those of you who won't be seeing the light of a holiday this summer, you have our condolences...
