If you are a gin lover and know that there is nothing better than kicking back on a with a glass or two, yet find that your casual friday drinks tend to escalate?! There may be a scientific reason for that...

Psychology experts from Innsbruck University in Australia have conducted a study that concluded that people who enjoy a more savory or bitter food or beverage for example coffee, dark chocolate and Gin and tonic are more likely to have pyschopathic tendencies ... *slowly throws coffee cup in bin*

The researchers concluded that the personality types associated with these foods tend to possess characteristics  of “Machiavellianism, psychopathy, narcissism, and everyday sadism”.

This conclusion was reached after two separate experiments were conducted in which 1,000 participants were asked to examine and rank a long list of foods and drinks they enjoyed. After this, the also took a personality test that measured their "psychopathic tendencies".

One of the researchers involved in the study, Christina Sagioglou suggestd why this may be.

"Most people are put off by bitter tasting things because we associate them with wild, poisonous foods. Fearless psychopaths, however, are supposedly attracted by this. Everyday sadism is a construct related to benign Masochism – the enjoyment of painful activities."

Well we have always known a cheeky drink or two can lead to some bad decisions after hours but this has gotten us thinking on a whole new level!
