We’ve all heard the parable of water being turned into wine, but we never thought we’d see it in action.
Okay, so it’s not actually wine that’s formed from water in this scenario, but locals in Melbourne have decided to try their hand at it, courtesy of a LOT of red food dye.
Melbourne’s Hochgurtel Fountain in Carlton Gardens now looks like it’s straight out of a horror movie, because its donning a bright red colour which obvs is NOT how it’s supposed to be.
A spokesperson from the City of Melbourne spoke to Pedestrian.TV about the incident, saying, “"The fountain is connected to a nearby lake in the gardens, which subsequently also turned a shade of red," we were told. "The red water is non-toxic to flora and fauna and likely the result of food dye being placed in the fountain. Remediation works are currently underway to drain the fountain and the lake. They should both return to their normal colouring by tomorrow."
Needless to say, Victorian Police aren’t impressed with the stunt and it will come at a serious cost, as the lake and fountain will have to be drained.
Whoever is responsible might want to consider fleeing town…
