This makes us feel a little bit better about ourselves... even the Athletes in Rio love a good Maccas run.
Talk about living the dream, there’s a McDonald’s giving out free meals to the Athletes at the Olympic Village in Rio.
Goals, goals, goals.
According to The Washington Post, the menu is quite limited of mainly just burgers and fries, but that still hasn’t stopped the athletes and coaches loading up on the goods.
The Athletes don’t even care that the line is long. They have literally waited for hours just to get a feed. Training can wait when McDonald’s is for free.
Samoan freestyle swimmer Brandon Schuster, waited with 53 people in front of him. Just chilling in shorts and thongs, he said,“We’re so pathetic... It’s raining, and we’re waiting in line for McDonald’s.” You gotta do what you gotta do.
The McDonald’s has ended up getting so busy they had to place a limit of 20 items per person… yes, 20.
One employee revealed, “The Chinese basketball team, they come all day, every day… The Chinese eat Big Macs at 9 a.m. It’s crazy.”
Hey, it’s free we would be there too.
Most people wouldn’t think that McDonald’s would be a first choice restaurant for athletes, but the truth is there’s not too much else around.
The only other food near the athletes’ village is a cafeteria and a casual dining restaurant with only Brazilian food. They don’t want to risk getting sick after trying unfamiliar food… so Maccas is the way to go.
Does this mean we can have a Big Mac for lunch today? Because well, you know… to support them?
