Last night, a 250-metre stretch of road in Sydney's west was confined as a crime scene was established along the footpath in the wake of a terrifying ordeal.
Reports of a shooting were made to police at 9.45pm on Friday night, as police were called to a home on the main road (Windsor Road) running through Baulkham Hills.
The 21-year-old man was found outside the home, heavily bleeding from a devastating wound to his neck from a gunshot.
He was taken to Westmead hospital in a critical condition and sadly passed away from the injury.
According to The Daily Telegraph, witnesses reported that, "Yesterday at 8.30pm I came up out of the driveway and there was someone getting chased by someone else.
"The guy eventually gave up and then the other kid kept running off. I eventually came back half an hour later, and there was a police car and two ambulances parked out the front."
Another witness account revealed that police have allegedly been making arrests outside the home the 21-year-old was found outside of for three straight weekends.
The 25-year-old has since been arrested by police and is undergoing questioning.
Our thoughts and love are with the family and friends of the young man who passed away.
