2016 has NOT gone easy on any of us.
And as we enter the holiday season, we thought we would be gifted with some form of reprieve but of course we were wrong, because 2016 is delivering another heavy blow to the Australian citizens by closing down one of its beloved stores.
When you were a youngster, you probably remember beginning each school year with a search for new school shoes.
Well, the beloved store most of us headed to, Payless Shoes, isn't going to be there for our future children to rely on anymore, because all 132 of their Australian stores are shutting down.
The company's administrator Ferrier Hodgson announced the news of one of our largest independent shoe retailer's closure and the Australian public just does not know how to handle it...
Along with the closures, over 730 Australians will lose their jobs by the time February comes along, when the stores will be either transferred or closed.
The beloved store opened its first shop in Sydney over thirty years ago, in 1980. It is now owned by Payless ShoeSource, in Kansas, USA.
First Dick Smith and Pumpkin Patch went and closed on us, and now we have to deal with this...
Please 2017: be gentle with us.
