If you love snacking on a bit of brie, a slice of blue or even that chocolate cheese that they now have in Melbourne, we've got some good news for you.
A new scientific study shows that people who eat cheese may actually live longer.
The study published in the Nature Medicine Journal explained, that for quite some time, researchers have been investigating spermidine, a compound most commonly found in cheese.
Spermidine is also in a variety of whole grains, peas and soy beans making these, along with that cheddar on your sandwich, the key foods for life longevity.
Mature cheese also has other benefits like reducing heart failure and high blood pressure.
Researchers surveyed over 800 Italians and found that the people who ate more mature cheese had a 40 per cent lower risk of heart failure than those who only ate small amounts.
So, who thinks we should get a nice cheese platter out?
