For those of you who are avid watchers of Shark Tank, you may remember a certain Aussie bloke who had the dream of creating, nay, owning the hamburger/hotdog bread bun.
Well, it happened. Western Australian Mark Murray managed to secure a US patent for exactly that: a regular burger bun, with two long bits on either end.
He and his team of gingerbread-house-owning employees are now roaming Australia, fattening us all up so they can eat us with what he has dubbed the 'Hamdog'. 50% hamburger, 50% hot dog.
The $8 concoction consists of a Bunbury beef patty which is cut in half, with a Hunsa frankfurt poked through the middle, topped with all the regular burger attributes: lettuce, tomato, cheese, pickles and three different sauces.
"The only thing that's not from WA are the pickles," Mark told News.com.au.
The Hamdog was brought into being in 2004, however, a marquee dedicated to the fast food was only just opened two months ago.
"We had people come from everywhere just to experience the Hamdog. At one stage the crew was knocking out about one every 15 seconds," he said.
The Hamdog crew is slowly venturing their way across the nation, so, keep your eyes peeled (or don't) for when it'll be near you via their Facebook page.
