We have had confirmation from promoter Swisse that the tour is NOT cancelled, just postponed by a few days

All events will go ahead as planned, including the Melbourne cocktail party a week later on Tuesday 26 March.

Warner Brothers (who look after the show in the US) have just issued the following statement:

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will delay its arrival into Australia by a few days while Ellen recovers from the flu.

Ellen will meet her fans in Sydney later next week, and will then head to Melbourne.

More announcements about the trip will be made in coming days.

Ellen Degeneres may be forced to postpone her trip to Australia at the last minute.

Ellen’s been suffering a bug for a few days and is believed to have the flu.

The taping of one of Ellen’s shows was cancelled this week, and the star has been at home under the care of her wife, Portia de Rossi.

Earlier this week she tweeted:

Trying to get over a bug before I go to Australia. Nobody wants to be down under the weather.”

"Between my humidifier and Portia making me tea non-stop, there's so much steam coming from our house people think we picked the new Pope."

Sources in the US are currently refusing to comment on the illness however airlines have hinted that her Aussie visit would be delayed.

No final cancellation has been confirmed as yet. Stay tuned as more news comes to hand.
